Winter Squash

Squash, genus Cucurbita, is native to the New World, where native peoples cultivated them before European settlement. Winter Squash differs from summer squash in that they are harvested in a later stage when their seeds have matured fully and their skin has hardened into a tough rind. At this stage, most varieties of this vegetable can be stored for use during the winter. 

The Full Harvest Innovative Grade pie pumpkins are aesthetically imperfect -  often scarred, mis-shapen, or without a stem. They are suited for turning into purees and powders.

Full Harvest Innovative Grade produce is off-grade produce with custom specification tolerances outside of traditional grades. These unique Full Harvest products are developed in partnership with our suppliers by capturing perfectly edible produce that is typically wasted during harvest - simply because it does not fit into traditional grades. One of our most sustainable offerings, Innovation Grade produce helps our growers sell more of their harvest and waste less in the fields.  An audit is required before environmental benefit claims can be made.
