Carrots, Daucus carota subsp. sativus, are an annual root crop originating from the dry and hot lands of Iran and Afghanistan. The growing season ranges from 110 to 180 days, depending upon the time of year, growing conditions, variety, and desired size.
Occasionally we come across entire fields of carrots with “green shoulders,” which normally makes them unsellable, but you can buy them as our FH Innovative Jumbo SKU.
