Broccoli

Broccoli is derived from the Italian word broccolo, which means "the flowering crest of a cabbage," and the Latin brachium meaning arm, branch, or shoot. Broccoli is a cool season crop that is grown for its edible flower buds and stalk. It is a fast-growing annual plant that grows 60–90 cm (24–35 inches) tall.

Broccoli is our winner for most versatile. Broccoli stalks or stems- which typically go to waste- can be diced, riced, and shredded and have a great flavor and texture.
